Wawota School Hosts District & Provincial Golf Championships

On September 16th Wawota Parkland School proudly hosted the South East District Golf Championship at Golf Kenosee. Our team of 9 golfers took to the course, with great  performances from all. Brock’s impressive third-place finish earned him a spot at the upcoming Provincial Golf Championship, marking a major achievement for our school.

As hosts of the Provincial Golf Championship, Wawota was granted the opportunity to send additional golfers to the event. Lucas and Kellyn were selected for these spots, but with Lucas unable to attend due to hockey commitments, Cruze stepped in to represent our school.

On September 26th and 27th, we had the privilege of hosting the SHSAA Provincial Golf Championship at Golf Kenosee. The first day brought strong winds, making for challenging conditions, but our golfers showed great resilience. By Day 2, scores improved as conditions settled, and the team was able to play to their full potential earning 4th place in the team event.

We want to extend a huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped make these events a success. Your time and efforts were greatly appreciated! We also want to express our sincere gratitude to our local sponsors for their generous donations, which significantly contributed to the success of the events.

And, of course, the biggest thanks goes to Golf Kenosee for hosting both events and for their hard work in getting the course in perfect shape for the golfers.
Overall, the experience was invaluable for our athletes, and we are excited for what’s ahead. With their determination and skill, we’re confident they will be back next year, ready to compete for a spot at Provincials in Humboldt!
